Joss Whedon Quits Twitter

The Fourth apparently wasn’t strong for fan favorite Joss Whedon as he shut down his Twitter today.

While some think that his leaving had to do with backlash against the role of the Black Widow in Avengers: Age of Ultron, he was never a fan of the medium.  In fact he had previously said I joined six months ago to specifically try to drive business to Much Ado About Nothing because I figured Much Ado needs all the help it can get. The moment I joined, oh my God, what a responsibility, this is enormous work—very fun, but it really started to take up a huge amount of my head space.’

Before signing off Whedon’s last two tweets were.

“Now I may me down to sleep I pray the lord my soul to keep If I should die before I wake ‘kay,” he initially wrote in reference to the Avengers sequel finally being released.

A final tweet read: “Thank you to all the people who’ve been so kind and funny and inspiring up in here.”
