Seems they were dropping us quite the hint at the end of Guardians when Star Lord unwraps the last gift he received from his mother – which turned out to be The Awesome Mix Vol 2.

Both Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, and Director James Gunn have called the upcoming movie “The Guardians of the Galaxy Sequel Vol. 2”.   Feige accidentally let it slip at an Ant Man press conference with Gunn later confirming it on Twitter “Okay, I’m not being sarcastic, guys. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 IS truly the title.”

In an interview with Collider he promises that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be a movie that is bigger yet smaller because it’s more emotional and takes a more intense focus. We should also expect to “learn a lot about fathers”.

The movie begins filming early next year in London with a release date of May 5, 2017.
