Tower Records Opens Limited Edition Super Mario Bros. Cafe in Japan

It’s Mario’s 30th Anniversary!  30 years since he jumped into our hearts on the Nintendo Entertainment System platform (or Famicon as it’s known in Japan).

To celebrate the milestone Tower Records (yes THAT Tower Records, the one that doesn’t exist in the USA anymore), is having a special sale and opening up a limited edition cafe full of Mario inspired eats in its Tokyo Locations.

It will be open from June 22 – July 5th.  Exact dates will vary by location and each of the Tower Records Cafe’s locations in Tokyo’s Shibuya, Omotesando, and Ebisu districts will have their own special menu of character-themed dishes.

Here’s a sneak peak at some of what they will serve up:

Tower Records Cafe Shibuya (June 23rd – July 1st)

Cafe items can be ordered individually or as a full set.  With any purchase of a main dish you’ll receive one of eight limited edition 2.5-dimensional figures and/or one of six limited edition coasters.
