In the original Lost in Space series The Robot was a piece of equipment brought by the Robinson’s from Earth that Will became attached to.  In the new series official trailer it appears The Robot will play a more pivotal role in the fate of the Robinson’s and is an alien life form discovered by Will after they crash land on their first planet.

 

 

The series debuts on Netflix on April 14th.
