There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the casting of Carrie Fisher’s daughter, Billie Lourd, in the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  Most of it has surrounded the possibility that she would play a young Princess Leia in a flashback of some kind.

But during an interview with ET in which she was discussing an upcoming show that she will be in, called Scream Queens, Lourd confirmed that this was not the character she had been cast as when asked specifically about who she would be by the host.

“That’s a lie.  That’s a rumor.  I wish I was playing a young princess Leia.” she replied.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is due in theaters December 18, 2015
